Other places to visit in Aude and beyond

Villerouge-Terménès has been in 1321 the place of the execution of the last “perfect” Cathar, Guillaume Bélibaste. Today this charming village hosts in its center a beautiful castle with a medieval rotisserie, rare opportunity to experience the cooking of 12th and 14th century.

On the slopes of the Black Mountain, about fifteen kilometers from Carcassonne, Montolieu is known as the Village of the Book: a dozen bookstores, book artisans and craftspeople, a museum of Arts and Crafts Book, …

Towards the Hérault, Le Somail is not just a picturesque stop on the Canal du Midi. The antiquarian booksellers ‘ The Finds all of the Book‘ contains tens of thousands of old books.

Beyond the borders of the Aude, the oppidum Ensérune (city of Nissan-lez-Ensérune, in the neighboring department of Hérault), a remarkable archaeological site, which was occupied between the 6th century BC and 1st century AD.

Another way to discover the region: the tourist train from Axat to Rivesaltes. From the mountains to the coast through the valleys of Maury and Agly.

Our Guest House benefited from the support of the Europe and the Conseil Général de l’Aude,  within the framework of the LEADER program.
